World UBE Society – America Chapter

Specifics
About the Client
Dr. Andrew Chung is a dual-fellowship trained spine surgeon, educator, and co-founder of the World UBE Society – America Chapter, dedicated to advancing minimally invasive spine surgery through education and collaboration.
Project Overview
When Dr. Andrew Chung reached out, he wanted a professional online presence for the World UBE Society – America Chapter, a new nonprofit dedicated to advancing biportal endoscopic spine surgery (UBE) education and collaboration across the Americas.
The organization was newly established, and the website needed to feel credible, globally connected, and scalable, yet remain streamlined to fit a focused budget. With their first major event — the 2nd Annual UBE America Conference (January 2026) — fast approaching, timing and clarity were key.
Problem Description
The newly founded World UBE Society – America Chapter needed a professional online presence that reflected the credibility and global reach of its mission. The challenge was to design a website that looked authoritative and cohesive with the parent organization, while keeping the structure simple, budget-conscious, and scalable for future features like membership logins, educational content, and event registration.
Solution
1. Listening First
I started by understanding Andrew’s vision and long-term goals. He wanted a professional foundation now, with room to expand later into member profiles, sign-up workflows, and video libraries.
I asked key questions about content priorities, design tone, and scalability — ensuring every design decision would serve both immediate and future needs.
2. The Design Direction
Working within a focused budget meant designing strategically — keeping the structure simple but polished. Using Webflow, I built a clean, modern interface inspired by medical precision:
- Crisp typography
- Balanced white space
- A palette led by deep blue for trust and professionalism
I also enhanced the logo, adding a red-white-blue spine to represent the American chapter, ensuring brand cohesion with the parent organization.

Each page was designed to communicate authority and purpose:
- Home: Hero section with mission and event highlights
- About: Clear mission, vision, and background
- Members: Leadership bios with photos
- Contact: Simple, accessible form
3. Building for Scalability
While Webflow’s user account feature was sunsetted, I proposed future-ready integrations (like Memberstack or Outseta) for member logins. This approach allows easy expansion later, without rebuilding the site.
